Abstract

This paper describes the research findings, and summarises the guidelines for successful co-management that were the main output of the Caribbean Coastal Co-management Guidelines Project. The guidelines were developed from a synthesis of lessons and experiences of comanagement initiatives in the Caribbean and other regions of the world. These lessons were coupled with new information generated from case studies of coastal and marine resources comanagement at selected sites in Barbados, Belize and Grenada.
