PALI DISTRICT in Rajasthan has over 800 textile industries that employ about 50 per cent of the city’s population. The region has been a textile hub since the 1970s, with an annual turnover of over Rs 7,000 crore. But the industries have severely polluted river Bandi on whose banks the city is located.
