Abstract

Under the research project 'Popularisation and transfer of bivalve culture technology', mussel culture by raft and rack method was undertaken by two groups of fishermen at Njarakkal with the technical guidance of CMFRI in December 1999. Grown mussels were harvested during the first week of March 2000 and the meat was sold to the Integrated Fisheries Project (Govt, of India) at the rate of Rs. 57/kg.
