The 29th session of the AsiaPacific Fishery Commission (APFIC), held from 21 to 23 August 2006, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, reflected its new role as a consultative forum on major issues, and as an adviser to governments and other members of APFIC. Forty-three participants from 14 member countries, plus observers from nine inter-governmental, international and regional organizations took part.
