Abstract

Thondi is one of the important fish landing cenires located along the Palk Bay coast of Tamil Nadu (Ramanathapuram District). The fishing operations in and around this centre are practised throughout the year. Thalluvalai' (operated from non-mechanised boat) and 'nanduvalai' and 'nylon valai' (gillnet) are the main gear operated at this locality.
