Abstract

The Government of India is planning to survey the resources of its 200 mile exclusive economic zone with the object of providing precise information to commercial trawler operation. Orders have been placed with Goa Shipyards to build six survey vessels to be used for the survey. These vessels are intended for exploration of the deep sea and identification of new fishing grounds and the types and quantities of fish available.
