Abstract

Prof. (Dr.) Mohan Joseph Modayil has taken over charge as the New Director of CMFRI on 2 September, 2000. A renowned scientist and a teacher, he has contributed greately to the cause of marine sciences. He possesses a first class Masters Degree in Marine Biology and a Doctorate degree in Bioscience. He has to his credit 32 yeeirs of research/teaching/developing work in the field of artisanal fisheries in many developing countries.
