Abstract

On 16th August 1999, one specimen of Harpodon nehereus was landed in Chavala, a gill net operated at a depth of 2 to 3 meters off Quilandy in Calicut.The fish measured 215 mm with a standard length of 177 mm.The specimen is preserved in the museum of Calicut Research Centre of Central Marine Fisheries Reesearch Institute.
