Abstract
The Australian Parliament has passed one Act and has a Bill before it both of which have consequences for the Australian shipping scene. This is a Note on the Act and the Bill and some comments on the appropriateness of some aspects of the Australian Parliament implementing international treaties into domestic legislation.
