Abstract

IMO will send a special expert mission to South-East Asian countries in October 1998 to discuss ways of preventing and suppressing piracy and acts of armed robbery against ships. The mission will be the first of a series, and will be followed by regional seminars in selected countries to address the continuing rise in violent acts against merchant vessels.
