Abstract

The OECD’s Maritime Transport Committee (MTC) has given strong endorsement to an Action Plan which contains practical ways in which the various sectors of the maritime industry can act together to marginalise, and hopefully eventually eliminate, many of the substandard ships which pose serious risks to the lives of seafarers and the environment, and which hinder world trade.
