Abstract
Sea cucumbers or Holothurians are an interesting group of marine invertebrates under the phylum Echinodermata. They are worm-like animals with exuberant colour, inhabiting a variety of marine habitats like mud flats, sand flats, seagrass beds, coral reefs and abyssal plains. They are bestowed with the power of regeneration and are capable of growing into two separate individuals if cut into two equal halves.
