Abstract

Over the last twenty years or so, there have been several major Independent Commissions on the future of the Earth and both present and future generations of humankind. These included Willy Brandt’s Commission on International Development Issues, Olaf Palme’s Commission on Disarmament and Security Issues and Gro Harlem Brundtland’s World Commission on Environment and Development.
