Abstract

A meeting initiated by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) to address growing concern about the level and severity of attacks in south-east Asia took place in Singapore on 15 and 16 March 2001. It identified regional co-operation as the key to fighting piracy in Southeast Asia.
