Abstract

On World Ocean Day (8 June), we celebrate the lives and livelihoods of small-scale fishing communities around the world. Silvina Paniagua Fernández, and hundreds of fishers and fishworkers like her in Costa Rica, don't have a license to fish. This, despite their close connections to the ecosystems and their livelihoods being traditionally dependent on fisheries. The video is a small tribute to the coastal fishing communities of Puntarenas.
