Abstract
Fishes are not the only marine species being farmed; corals are farmed too. Coral reefs are among the oldest and the most biologically diverse element of the ecosystem. However, human activities have resulted to their near ruin. Most responsible for reef destruction is blast fishing. This, together with marine pollution, unregulated coastal development, deforestation and improved fishing gears bring about heavy pressure on coral reef productivity. Coral farming therefore offers a solution to this problem.
