Abstract

The high school department of the Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF) at Tiwi, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo has a special vocational program designed to make graduates ready for regular college education or work right away after graduation. Graduates earn a high school diploma plus a certificate of proficiency with specialization in either fish capture, culture or fish preservation. This program is supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Philippine Council for Aquatic and Marine Research and Development (PCAMRD). Four of ISCOF’s graduating high school students share their plans for the future.
