Abstract

SEAFDEC Aquaculture Department was established in July 1973. It was mandated to (1) promote, undertake and coordinate research which is necessary for the development of the aquaculture industry in the region; (2) train experts in aquaculture at various levels, from the researcher down to the technician level; and (3) arrange for the exchange and dissemination of knowledge and information in the field of aquaculture and related activities to meet the needs of SEAFDEC Member-Countries.
