Abstract

In New South Wales, the management of coastal and inland fishing, both recreational and commercial, is administered under the Fisheries Management Act 1994 (NSW) (the FMA). NSW is one jurisdiction in Australia’s fishing zone which measures 11 million km2 and is an important primary industry for employment of a large number of Australians and export earnings.
