Ca Mau peninsula of Viet Nam is a new, unstable land situated between the East Sea (South China Sea) and Thailand Gulf. Every year, aliuvia from the Mekong River system and eroded soil from the east of the peninsula accumulate at the west coast. The potentially rich Southwest accretion area is an important natural ecosystem in Ca Mau peninsula. According to the laws on land, the premature accretion land outside river mouths are government property and should remain undisturbed.
