Abstract

Knowledge of aquaculture legislation and policies in the region is "patchy" at best. However this may soon change after the University of the South Pacific (USP) completes an SPCfunded project to review the state of aquaculture legislation and policy. Dr Nathan Evans, USP lecturer in ocean law and policy, will conduct the review and two USP post-graduate students will assist him. The project, which began in March 2003, is expected to conclude with a presentation of results to the SPC Heads of Fisheries meeting in August 2003.
