Abstract

The Chilika lake is the abode of the Irrawady dolphin. Besides, this two other species are found in the coastal waters of Orissa. The dolphins are under threat due to illegal fishing activity of some fishermen . Dolphin meat is being used as bait for shark fishing in some parts of the state."
