Abstract

The bighead carp, Aristicthys nobilis has become a popular fish for freshwater aquaculture in the Philippines and in many parts of Asia because of its fast growth and high survival. The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC AQD), an Associate Member of INGA, has been conducting extensive research on this species since 1979.
