Abstract
Small scale fisheries provide food security and dignify work to people living in the marine and coastal communities in Costa Rica. This food security goes together with cultural identity, vitality , of traditional knowledge related to the marine resources and a well being that makes evident and integral life and a form of life that is special and needs to be conserved and provides of resilience to these small scale fishermen and fisherwomen.
