DIANNE ROCHELEAU PROVOCATIVELY PUSHES AN analytics of the commons beyond its conventional spatial and material fixity to encompass environmental and cultural conditions that "transcend physical boundaries across private and public holdings." Rocheleau's dis-aggregation of the commons as multiple, over-lapping dimensions offers a topology for untangling the tensions and contradictions that frustrate the equitable use of shared spaces and resources across places that argues and artfully demonstrates how such dis-articulations allow for a powerful deployment of "the commons" concept across a patchwork of private and state holdings— i.e. Zambrana-Chacuey landscapes.
