Abstract

This report reviews the impact of IUU fishing and aims to provide APEC economies with a better understanding of the scope of the IUU fishing problem in the region and to provide a basis for action to minimize IUU fishing and mitigate its impacts. The analysis has focused on IUU fishing by foreign vessels within exclusive economic zones (EEZs) and IUU fishing on the high seas.
