Abstract
It was in 2015 that the United Nations declared the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). There are 17 Goals, and SDG 14 deals with marine ‘life below water’, which is is formulated with the aim to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development. The Ocean Conference— co-hosted by Fiji and Sweden— was held at the UN Headquarters, New York from 5 to 9 of June 2017 to support the implementation of SDG 14.
