Abstract

The workshop was, therefore, organized with the following objectives: 1. Provide training and other technical support, where required, to organizations initiating documentation centres on small- scale fisheries, on compatible systems of information gathering, management and dissemination. 2. Establish better co-ordination for information dissemination between documentation centres working on small-scale fisheries, towards: making available, in an integrated way, information on small-scale fisheries in English, French and Spanish; disseminating widely news of relevance about small-scale fisheries in English, French and Spanish as well as exploring alternative ways of generating and disseminating such news.
