Abstract

The report of the Fishing Vessel Casualty Task Force. Provides a brief history of fishing vessel safety during this century , the vessel standards, nature and extent of the fishing vessel casualties and also provides some recommendations for significantly reducing fishing vessel casualties and preventing their enormous costs in injuries, loss of life and property and indirect costs such as environmental harm and search and rescue expenses.
