Abstract

For the ILO fishing convention it is important that India supports the adoption of this convention which will benefit India's fishing industry as also a large number of Indians working on board fishing vessels in other countries. The proposed convention, once adopted, would provde a framework to look at issues of working and living conditions in fishing and keep track of labour standards in fishing sector as well.
