Abstract

This is a study by the members of the Committee constituted by the Govt. of India, a) to carry out an evaluation on the impact of closed season in increasing the fishery resources of the India EEZ, b) to study the population dynamics, recruitment, fecundity, natural death, catch and the MSY in the Indian coasts, c) to study the diurnal oscillation, eutrophication and upwelling season, migration, productivity of waters during and after the monsoon months and d) whether fishing by non-mechanised traditional crafts with OBM to be banned during closed season and the type of crafts which can be allowed.
