Abstract

Conservation of biodiversity and optimum exploitation of the natural as well as man-made resources is t he key for sustainable food security (including fish) of the growing population. The fish production of Bihar Indicates a gradual increase .It has registered over more than ten times increase in fish production from 46.41 TMT in 1960-61 to 509.08 TMT in 2016-17. In this regard, the Statistical cell has presented an analytical table to achieve the target. Which would be beneficial for formulation of various fisheries development and welfare schemes. The state has registered average carp and pangasius fish production of 3 ton per hectare and 49 tan per hectare respectively.
