Abstract
The Pacific coast of Russia—or the so-called Russian Far East—is rich in diverse indigenous cultures for whom salmon is the main source of subsistence. Neighbouring Alaska is the Kamchatka peninsula, one of the Russian Far East regions which, for the most part, remains proud of its pristine and untouched nature.
