Abstract

The Tunis declaration on artisanal fisheries was presented, discussed and approved by the representatives of artisanal fishery organizations from North African countries (Algeria, Egypt, Mauritania, Morocco, Libya and Tunisia). The document was presented at the Regional workshop celebrating the closing of the International Year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture (IYAFA 2022) in North Africa, held the 12-14 December 2022 in Tunis, Tunisia. During this event, the general assembly of the Maghreb and North Africa Platform of Artisanal Fishery and Aquaculture was held and its action plan was approved and launched.
