Abstract

The by-law and constitution define the roles and responsibilities of the Collaborative Management Association (CMA). Importantly, it recognizes the roles and responsibilities of fishers in fisheries management. This by-law and constitution was developed in consultations with the CMA and key fisheries stakeholders, both at the county and national levels. We are grateful to our international and development partners – the European Union and the Environmental Justice Foundation through the Communities for Fisheries project – for providing technical and financial assistance to facilitate this process. This by-law and constitution was developed with and for the CMA for the sustainable management of Liberia’s fisheries resources and signed into effect by the Director-General of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority.
