Abstract

The purpose of this design report is to document the finding of a risk identification study that used a Human Centered Design (HCD) approach to understand drowning risk related to fishing in two fishing communities on the Tanzanian shores of Lake Victoria (Kome & Busekera). The report includes the method used, identified drowning risk within a fisher’s day, the behaviours and competencies of fishers, the supply chain for key safety equipment, and the best way to communicate safer practice in the fishing industry
