Abstract

Following the 2015 approvals and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, biodiversity is considered vital for both the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement. Approximately one-third of the net greenhouse gas emissions needed to meet the Paris Agreement goals can be reduced through nature-based biodiversity solutions. The Islamic Republic of Iran, as a Contracting Party to the CBD, has actively participated in the international biodiversity and environmental programs and continues to prioritize the protection and sustainable use of nature.
