Thi book provides an overview of the Region's coastal and marine resources, conditions, and trends in use. A review of the main issues and underlying forces of coastal transformation in Latin America and the Caribbean. Globally accepted principles for coastal management and emerging policy shortcomings of traditional approaches. Bank's own experience in financing Coastal infrastructure, marine fisheries and coastal management operations. The core of the strategy is where actions are recommended in line with the fundamental goals of the 8th Capital Replenishment and concludes with the instruments, resource requirements and constraints for applying the strategy in Bank activities.
