Abstract

This paper explores some of the definitional elements of TURFs (Territorial Use Rights in Fisheries) and the distinctions between territorial rights and common property. It also critically assess the conditions that may have an effect on the creation and maintenance of TURFs or also discusses the related to equitable distribution of benefits.
