Abstract

With the development of modern technology and skills, total volume of catch and fish product have grown many folds. Income from fishery sector increased tremendously. But the fisherfolk, remained at the bottom of the strata. Because of the process of modernisation, fisherfolk became the laborer and businessman and corporation took control of the fishery and fishing industry. The specific country situation, the regional realities and peoples responses and their experiences have been documented in this.
