Abstract

Small-scale or artisanal fishery is a neglected sector in research on African development, despite the fact that fishery is a vital source of protein and source of income for a large number of people on the continent. Focuses on the socio-economic conditions within the sector and also cover issues related to management of fish resources and fishery development . Contains case study on artisanal fishery development in Zambia, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Angola, Tanzania and West Africa.
