Abstract

This publication is a compilation of statistics on number of people employed annually in commercial and subsistence fishing, operating in freshwater, blackishwater and marine areas, and in aquaculture production activities. Statistics are presented for the period 1970-1996. Starting with data for 1990, wherever possible, data for employment in aquaculture production and for female employment are also provided separately.
