Abstract

The present circular provides summary information on the role of the international fishery bodies with regard to the conservation and management of living resources of the high seas. It describes 35 fisheries organisations throughout the world. For each body, information on the establishment, area of competence, species covered, membership and objectives and activities are given. Wherever possible, maps showing their area of competence are also provided.
