Abstract

The "regional consultation on interactive mechanisms for small-scale fisheries management" initiated by the FAO and co-organised by the coastal development centre, was held in Bangkok, Thailand. The Consultation reviewed the fisheries situation in the Asia Pacific region, an ecosystem based fisheries management approach and a regional synthesis on small scale fisheries and their management in the region. This document is also intended to facilitate the process of decentralising small-scale fisheries.
