Abstract

This bulletin is designed as a guide to those marine fishes of California, which are likely to be caught by commercial and sport fishermen. While the species included represent only a fraction of the total recorded from the State, those remaining are mostly either deep-sea forms or small fishes of inshore waters, which rarely, if ever, enter the fisherman's catch.
