Abstract
This is a chapter of the Encyclopedia, which deals with fishing. Focus is on Indigenous divers, major sectors and processes, psychosocial characteristics of the workforce in one-shore fish processing, psychosocial characteristics of the work force in on-shore fish processing, social effects of one-industry fishery villages, health problems and disease patterns, musculoskeletal disorders among fishermen and workers in the fish processing industry and commercial Fisheries: Environmental and Public Health issues.
