Abstract
The seafood processing industry in India is almost entirely export-oriented and is spread across all the maritime states of the country. A total of 0.61 million metric tonnes valued at US$1.8 billion was exported during 2006-07. With increasing consumer awareness about the quality of food, the demands of importing countries for safe and good quality products has also increased.
