Abstract

The government of Orissa is the first state government in the country which announced a leasing policy in 1982 for development of brackishwater aquaculture. A detailed study on the Chilka prawn culture system was taken up during 1988-89, the results of which are presented in this report.Contains information on prawn farming in confined ponds, materials and methods, remarks on pond conditions and suggestions for improvement of the system.
