Abstract

This document introduces basic definitions and major considerations for the measurement and monitoring of fishing capacity.The ultimate objective of capactity measurement is to provide information for the development of a management strategy that will ensure that fleet capacity is moving in the right direction.This also contains recent international efforts towards the same.
