Abstract

Calls for use of TEDs, a return to artisanal fishing, a reduction or ban on trawl fishing in the rookery at Gahirmatha in Orissa and provide a socio economic solution to traditional fisherfolk. For conservation education and awareness are necessary to mobilize the local people.
